Arhaeopteryx images!

The name derives from the Ancient Greek "archaios" meaning "ancient", and "pteryx" meaning "feather" or "wing".
Archaeopteryx is the oldest known bird. It lived in the Late Jurassic, around 150 million years ago. Its fossilized
remains have been discovered in Bavaria, Southern Germany.

Archaeopteryx is a genus of small bird-like dinosaur, a transitional form between dinosaurs and birds. It had wings
covered with feathers very similar to modern-day bird feathers, and it could fly. On the other hand, it had jaws with a large number of sharp teeth, three fingers with claws, and a large bony tail, features it shared with other dinosaurs of the time.

Archaeopteryx was similar in size to a raven. It could grow to about 0.5 m in length, and weighed between 0.8 and 1 kg.

Best dinosaur pictures - Allosaurus!

Allosaurus was a mighty predator that existed in the late Jurassic period, some 155 to 150 million years ago. It was 12 m long, 5 m high, and weighed about two tons. It's name, derived from Ancient Greek, denotes a "different lizard", because its backbone was different from all the other known dinosaurs.
Allosaurus was carnivorous and prayed on other medium-sized dinosaurs. Is lived in herds, and could overcome even the largest dinosaurs of its day.

Allosaurus had a broad skull and a powerful jaw equipped with multiple sharp teeth. It's short neck was planted on a huge body with a prolonged tail. This dinosaur was bipedal, moving on its hind legs. It's forelimbs were considerably sorter and slimmer, armed with three big claws each. Due to it's enormous size and weight, it could only move in a slow and clumsy way.
Fossil remains of this prehistoric animal have been found across North America.

Flying Dinosaur pictures -Archeopteryx!

The name Archeopteryx derives from the Ancient Greek "archaios", meaning "ancient", and "pteryx",meaning "feather". It has generally been accepted as the oldest known bird, a transitional form in the evolution of species between dinosaurs and birds.

Archaeopteryx lived in the Late Jurassic Period, some 150 - 145 million years ago, in what is now Germany, but at the time was
an archipelago of islands in a shallow tropical sea, much closer to the Equator than it is today.

Similar in shape and size to a modern-day magpie, Archaeopteryx was 30 cm long, and weighed between 300 - 500 grams. Despite its small size, broad wings, and the inferred ability to fly or glide, this prehistoric animal had more features in common with the other dinosaurs from the Age of Reptiles (such as jaws full of sharp teeth, long bony tail, etc.) than with modern birds.

Dinosaurs pictures - Stegosaurus!

The name Stegosaurus translates from ancient Greek as "roofed lizard", in reference to the bony growths in the form of jagged crests or plates along its neck, spine, and tail, - resembling the roof of a house.

Stegosaurus dinosaur lived in the Late Jurassic Period, some 150 million years ago. It was around 9 m long and 4 m high. The rows of triangular bony plates covering its whole body were connected to the bloodstream, making it possible for this prehistoric animal to change its color, in order to intimidate a predator. Stegosaurus had sharp tail-spikes which could inflict deadly stings to all attacking predators.
