The name derives from the Ancient Greek "archaios" meaning "ancient", and "pteryx" meaning "feather" or "wing".
Archaeopteryx is the oldest known bird. It lived in the Late Jurassic, around 150 million years ago. Its fossilized
remains have been discovered in Bavaria, Southern Germany.

Archaeopteryx is a genus of small bird-like dinosaur, a transitional form between dinosaurs and birds. It had wings
covered with feathers very similar to modern-day bird feathers, and it could fly. On the other hand, it had jaws with a large number of sharp teeth, three fingers with claws, and a large bony tail, features it shared with other dinosaurs of the time.

Archaeopteryx was similar in size to a raven. It could grow to about 0.5 m in length, and weighed between 0.8 and 1 kg.

Acrocanthosaurus was a bipedal animal, i.e. moving on its hind legs, with a heavy tail counterbalancing the head and body. It's forelimbs were relatively shorter and each hand bore three clawed digits.

Dinosaur pictures - Carcharodontosaurus!

Carcharodontosaurus is a genus of frightful carnivorous dinosaurs that existed in the mid-Cretaceous Period, between 100 and 93 million years ago. It is named after the shark genus Carcharodon (Ancient Greek "carcharo" = sharp, "odonto" = teeth, and "sauros" = lizard).

Carcharodontosaurus is one of the longest and heaviest known carnivorous dinosaurs, its length ranging at 12-13 m, height at 4 m, and weight from 5 to 15 tons. It is similar in shape to another horrific dinosaur, Tyrannousaurus Rex. It had a two-meter-long skull, with enormous jaws and serrated, saw-like teeth, up to 20 cm long. It had practically no neck, and its head was planted on a gigantic squatty trunk with an extended, mighty tail.

This prehistoric animal was bipedal, moving on its massive hind legs, whereas its forelimbs were considerably thinner and shorter.
Its fossilized remains have been discovered in Algeria and Morocco, in Northern Africa.
