Velociraptor, meaning "swift seizer", was a medium-sized predator that lived in the Cretaceous Period, 85 - 80 million years ago. It was a fast-running, two-legged carnivorous animal, 1.5 - 2 m long and about 1 m tall, weighing up to 15 kg. It had three-fingered clawed hands and long, thin legs with four-toed clawed feet. Its body was covered with feathers.
