Tyrannosaurus rex

Tyrannosaurus rex ("tyrant lizard", from the Ancient Greek "tyrannos" meaning "tyrant" and "sauros" meaning "lizard" + "rex" meaning "king" in Latin, to reflect its dominant role in the world of dinosaurs) is one of the largest known land predators. It existed in the Upper Cretaceous Period, about 68 - 66 million years ago, in what is today North America.
