Peteinosaurus ("winged lizard") is a genus of extinct feathered reptiles that existed in the Later Triassic period, between 221 - 210 million years ago. With a wingspan of around 60 cm and weight probably less than a common blackbird, it was one of the smallest flying reptiles in its day. The world of dinosaurs! Lesothosaurus was a small, early, lightly-built dinosaur. It was an herbivore (plant-eater) and a fast, agile runner. It was small and lizard-like, about 1 m long.

Lesothosaurus evolved in what is now southern Africa in the early Jurassic period, just over 200 million years ago.

The small skull of Lesothosaurus was short and flat, with large eye sockets. It had large cavities for the eye and jaw muscles. It had a short, pointed snout, and the lower jaw may have ended in a beak. Its teeth were pointed with grooved edges, and would have been ideal for chewing tough plant matter.
