Sinornithosaurus - bird-like feathered dinosaur

Sinornithosaurus (derived fro  a combination of Latin and Greek, meaning "Chinese bird-lizard") is a genus of bird-like feathered dinosaur that lived in the Early Cretaceous, about 125 million years ago.

Sinornithosaurus was one of the smallest dinosaurs: up to 1 m long and weighing about 3 kg. Its feathers did not have the secondary branches with tiny hooks featuring in flying feathers, and scientists have suggested that such feathers only allowed it to glide to short distances after leaping from trees.

Sinornithosaurus fossils have been found in China.
