Seismosaurus was a large long (surapod) necked dinosaur. Seismosaurus use to live 156 million years ago in what is today USA.

Its name is derived from the ancient Greek word combination that could be translated as the “earthquaking lizard”. Apparently because of its enormous size, it was inferred that the earth would shake under its thumping feet. It was a huge plant eating dinosaur, up to 33 m long, weighing between 50 and 75 tons. It had a long neck and a heavy tail as a whip which could inflict deadly blows to any approaching predator. Seismosaurus lived in herds, during the Late Jurassic Period, between 155 and 145 million years ago. Its fossilized remains have been found in New Mexico, USA.
