Psittacosaurus (translating from Ancient Greek as "parrot lizard") is a genus of herbivorous dinosaurs that lived in the Early and Middle Jurassic Period, between 123 and 100 million years ago. Fossil remains of this prehistoric animal have been found in Asia, -Russia, Mongolia, China, and Thailand.

This small dinosaur was 2 m long and weighed not more than 20 kg. Its skull was extremely tall in height and short in length, with a pronounced beak - features that resemble those of modern parrots, hence its name. Its forelimbs were only half as long as the hind limbs, suggesting that these animals were bipedal in life.
