Ouranosaurus in Ancient Greek means "brave lizard". This prehistoric animal lived in the early Cretaceous Period, between 125 and 112 million years ago, in what is now Africa. It was 7 m long and weighed around 4 tons.

This herbivorous dinosaur belongs to the so called "iguanodontia" group of dinosaurs", one of the earliest discovered and best known groups of dinosaurs.
